How Group Buying Works
Group buying is a way to get significant discounts (20-50% off) on premium products by joining with other shoppers. Here's how it works:
- Sellers list products with group buy pricing and set minimum units needed
- Multiple customers join the same group buy by "reserving" the discounted price
- If enough people join before the timer ends (24-72 hours), everyone gets the discount
- If not enough people join, the group buy fails and everyone gets their money back automatically
Yes! Creating a GUSU account is completely free, and there are no fees to join group buys. You only pay the discounted group buy price if the group buy succeeds.
Group buys typically run for 24 to 72 hours, depending on the seller's choice. You can see the exact countdown timer on each product page and track progress in real-time.
Yes! You can join as many group buys as you want. Each group buy is separate - you checkout individually for each product you want to join.
GUSU doesn't have a traditional shopping cart. Instead, you click "Join Group Buy" and checkout immediately for each product.
Payments & Refunds
We use a smart payment system:
- When you join: We place a temporary "hold" on your card (like a hotel reservation)
- If group buy succeeds: We capture the payment and you're charged
- If group buy fails: The hold is released and you're never charged
If a group buy doesn't reach its minimum number of participants:
- The payment hold on your card is automatically released
- You won't be charged anything
- The hold amount returns to your available balance within 1-3 business days
- You'll receive an email notification
- No action needed from you
Yes! You can leave a group buy anytime before it ends or succeeds:
- Go to your Order page
- Find the group buy and click "Leave Group Buy"
- Your payment hold is immediately released
- You can rejoin the same group buy later if you change your mind
This process is seamless and there are no fees or questions asked.
Orders & Shipping
Your Order page shows everything in real-time:
- Active group buys: See how many people have joined and time remaining
- Successful orders: Track shipping status and get tracking numbers
- Failed group buys: See which ones didn't meet minimum requirements
You'll also receive email notifications when group buys succeed, fail, or when your items ship.
Shipping timeframes vary by seller, but most orders ship within 3-7 business days after the group buy ends successfully. You'll receive a tracking number via email and can monitor progress on your Order page.
Yes! All sellers on GUSU must offer at least a 30-day return policy. You can return items directly to the seller if they're unopened and in original packaging.

Multiple Product Group Buys
Some sellers offer group buys where different products from their brand contribute to the same minimum threshold. This means:
- You can choose any products from the group buy
- Everyone's purchases count toward the same goal
- You still get the group discount even if you pick different items than others
Yes! You can join multiple products from the same seller's group buy, but:
- You checkout separately for each product
- Each product has its own quantity limit (set by seller to prevent reselling)
- Once you join a specific product, you can't join that same product again
- You can still join other products from the same group buy

Not yet! GUSU currently operates as a web-only platform, but our website is fully mobile-optimized. You can access all features through your phone's web browser with the same great experience.
We'll notify you via email when:
- A group buy you joined succeeds
- A group buy you joined fails
- Your order ships (with tracking information)
- Important updates about your orders
You can also check real-time status anytime on your Order page.
No, each person can only have one GUSU account. This helps ensure fair group buying and prevents manipulation of group buy numbers.
